Okay, here it is, just for Joanna. The race update. First of all, Ron and Kelly - you have officially won the award for the dumbest in the race. You have the opportunity to yeild the strongest team in the race and you don't. Well, if you don't win the prize for first in the leg, no sympathy here - even with Rob trying again to get people not to do their jobs. Right Rob, they work in an airport, but because you say so, they will stop selling tickets - yeah. Lynn and Alex, you give yourselves too much credit as a threat to the leading teams to be so amazed that you weren't yeilded. And the deal between Amber and Kelly, or should I say Barbie and Midge when they were looking for a clue in the steel boxes? "If you find the clue, you tell me and if I find it, I'll tell you". I think they're both clueless. Do you really think that all the clues are in the same box?
Merideth and Gretchen, for the sake of our sanity, please for the love of God, go home. Gretchen with the boxes, scratching her head and wandering back and forth, then saying that she had checked all the boxes reminded me of my kids when they were small when they would look for something. Open the door, look in the room and if it didn't jump out and bite them, then they couldn't find it.We still haven't figured out why all the people were applauding and waving when Merideth and Gretchen were riding in the horse drawn cart..... Unless.... the people thought they were George Dubya and Laura... Humourous moments - the guys who pretended to be someone else so they could get a cup of tea during the detour . Imagine that, a beureaucrat pretending to be someone they aren't so they can get something that they aren't really entitled to. Go figure. Gretchen got a new backpack but it was shaping up that they were going to be last. I almost hoped that it would be a non elimination just so she'd lose it. Not only was it not an elimination leg, it was a to be continued leg so meeting Phil on the mat only got Rob and Amber another clue. I think it's shaping up to be a Rob/Amber, Ron/Kelly and Uchenna/Joyce finish. Personally, I would like to see Uchenna and Joyce win. They seem to be the ones that may be able to come from behind. Previews for next week show camel racing and Gretchen yelling at Merideth "talk nice to the camel!" I can't wait. On to other things in my life. Most of you already know, but for those of you who don't, I'm going to be a grandma. Am I happy about this? Well, mixed reactions really. Being a grandma is not something that I have aspired to. It's not something that I have ever felt that was within my control, nor would I have wanted it to be. I am thrilled that this is what Joanna and Ryan want and that this makes them ecstatic. I guess it really doesn't make a huge difference in my life and that is why I am non committal at this point. It doesn't change the way that I feel about my daughter - I loved her before, I can't imagine that anything she could ever do, good or bad, would make me love her any more or any less. She is in for some big changes in her life and for that, I will be here and be supportive. I will not, however, live vicariously through her and her pregnancy by being constantly in the picture, giving advice not asked for and sometimes downright unwanted. I had my chance, now it's hers to discover how this works and how wonderful things can be when discovered by yourself rather than having someone tell you how you are going to feel and what you should do. Two months and 10 days til Rachel leaves for Newfoundland. She even has luggage now, that she has been packing her winter clothes in. She got the letter back from Memorial University confirming her application. Now we just have to wait to find out if she's accepted. Then the financing..... I guess it's really going to happen. Not that I ever thought she would change her mind. It has seldom happened in her 20 years that she changes her mind once it's made up. On anything....Life moves too fast sometimes... Too fast to earn the money that you need to pay for everthing that you want for yourself and your family. Leroy is going to have his claws removed. I just have to find out the price to do it. I'm sure I won't be his favourite person for a while. I want to take another course at fanshawe starting in May, but will have to wait to see how much kitty claw removal costs first. More money.... I really need to win the lottery. Anyway, that's about it for now, talk to you later kids... |
