Musings from the edge

Wow, it's been a really long time since I wrote. I faithfully read everyone else's blog and know what's going on in your lives, but never get around to writing on my own...

Christmas was great, with the exception of the Teletech Christmas (oops, sorry Holiday) party. Not that the party wasn't good, the dinner and the company was, as usual, exceptional, and it was really nice seeing everyone again. Unfortunately, I had what I think was, the Norwalk(sp?) virus and couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. The bathrooms were nice though.

Christmas itself was great. I saw everyone that I wanted to see. My family tradition of overnight eggs on Christmas morning, enjoyed by all of my immediate family remains intact for another year... With the possibility of Rachel going away soon, I'm not sure how much longer that will hold out. Ahhh she will have to come home for overnight eggs, otherwise Joanna will get them all. I'm sure next year will bring new traditions but I'm ready for them.... I participated in a Secret Santa adventure with Marco's family and had dinner there on Boxing Day. It's funny when you're used to 4 people for Christmas dinner and then you're in a room with 13 people including yourself.... It reminded me of when I was little and my parents and grandparents were alive and it would be me and my two brothers and my cousin and my aunt and uncle for Christmas. It sounds kind of sad, but I really don't miss it all that much. Don't get me wrong, I had fun at Marco's (I really like his family), but I liked my quiet Christmas dinner with my family (btw, my family now includes Ryan) on Christmas day just as much.

Oh, I forgot. This is for Annelieke, Tim and KP. I got the Collectors Edition of Scrabble for Christmas so you guys are going to have to tell me your schedules and we can have a Scrabble tournament at my house! Marco wants to shellack everyone!

New Year's was just that, New Years. Nothing special- quiet and nice and spent with my special someone. I did something different this year. I sat down and tried to remember, and write down, everything that I did last year that was something I hadn't done before, or bands that I saw that I hadn't seen before. By the way, KP, I went and saw Matt Good and stole a button that was sticky tacked to the souvenier table. Overall, it wasn't a bad year and there was nothing on the list that I had any regrets about. Joanna had a good quiz (which she stole I might add) on her site. Try taking it even if no one sees the answers but you. You really have to think about some of the questions...

To all of you who faithfully ask if I still like my job, I still love my job. I was a little intimidated about the lack of structure that existed when I went into this new role (every time I got called into the boss's office I figured it was over) but it's starting to take shape and I am getting positive reinforcement every day from the people I work with. There is frustration, but only from the standpoint of getting to a spot where I can't do anything because I'm waiting on someone else. But for that, I am given the power to just find myself a new project to work on in the meantime. Lately, I have been working with training using this cool program where you can share the desktop... It's called Go To Assist! I can't imagine anyone who reads this who doesn't recognize the irony of the fact that the first time that I had to use the telephone on this job was 2 days ago and it was to hook up a go to assist session. So in 3 months, I have used the telephone a total of two times. No wonder I still like my job!

Kristine, are you still watching the Amazing Race? I would love to hear your take on the contestants... and Annelieke, I'm still waiting on your latest installment...

We're having a real high turnover rate on fish at our house lately. "Another one bites the dust. And another one's gone and another one's gone..." I think we are on Squishy number 5 but lost count. I think I going to get goldfish next - the crackers. Leroy can eat them!

Okay, I guest that's it for now. Talk to you later kids....
