Well, did things backwards today. Cleaned the house before turning to the computer. Hmmm… Let’s see what’s new… I don’t know if anyone out there watches the Amazing Race, but I am a dedicated fan. Probably to the same extent as Kristine and Big Brother… I usually hate reality shows because they do little to reinforce my belief in humanity, in fact they usually exploit people’s bad characteristics. The race is different. Yes, there is bickering between some teams, but it’s more about working together to meet a common goal. And the prize is a million dollars. Plus if you win certain legs of the race, you get other prizes. So you don’t have to win the whole thing to win good stuff. Usually the prizes are trips and cruises. Because it’s a race, there are really no alliances between people; every team wants to win. I think my favourite part is seeing all the different countries and watching the participants be exposed to the different cultures. The road blocks are things that the teams have to do that are specific to the culture of the country they are in at the time. It may be an ancient ritual or a game that children of that country play. Either way, the tasks are great. It makes me jealous simply to see these countries on TV. And it reinforces my desire to travel. Rachel says it makes her mad cause her list of places she wants to see gets longer every week we watch the show. LOL. Uruguay is the latest on the list. Check out the website at The Amazing Race….
The beach was a bust on Sunday cause it was cloudy so we just went to Springbank Park. It was good though. Busy but good. Went downtown on Monday with Marco. Had lunch at J.Dee’s Market Grill… Almost as good as Grand Bend, but missed the water and the sand. Marco has plans for next Sunday and is working on Monday so I guess the beach will have to wait for a couple of weekends. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this time. Anyway not much else is new. Leroy has decided that perching on the balcony is not enough anymore, he needs to show that he can tightrope walk the length of the balcony wall. Not good. Emailed some pictures of him to Karlo. For anyone who doesn’t know, Karlo and Sarah nursed Leroy back to health from death’s door when he was just a baby. I’m sure that it’s Karlo’s influence in those first few months that makes Leroy cause me to endure so much stress. Or at least that’s what I tell Karlo. He and Sarah are buying a house in St. Catherines. Okay, now that’s about all. Later kids…. Sunday, July 11, 2004
Okay, so a couple of days late but here I am.... Just a quick post today though, I'm hoping to be going to the beach. I added a couple of new links to the Life In General Page for anyone who wants to look at baby pictures. Kyle's and Ella's sites are there.
I did not win at poker the other night, but I did manage to hold my own. It was tournament style and I managed to stay in longer than Jay in both and longer than a few in the first game for sure. It was a respectable first showing. For all of you who don't read her blog and ask me, Joanna is alive and well and SLEEPING IN MY BED right now! She has decided that the call centre life is not for her and is working at the University in administration for now. I think she just wants to be closer to the cute university boys myself... ;) Anyway, not much more news than that right now, or not that I can think of, so I'm off to make a picnic lunch and then hopefully to the beach, but if not, at least to the park.... Have a fun day kids... |
