I NEED MORE TVS!
I watched the race last night, but really have no comment. It's actually getting boring. I did like the strategies to the finish line though... From Lynn and Alex trying to put all their clothes on so that if they were last and it was a non elimination leg, they would at least have clothes to wear, to the brothers, who wore only their swimming trunks to the finish line in a "dare to eliminate us" strategy. At least it made me laugh. The race is on from 9-10, however there is also a show that I taped - House. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet but it came highly recommended by a guy that I work with. Unfortunately, it was on channel 114 so had to be taped on the digital cable box tv. I watched the race on my tv (only regular cable) but didn't get to watch The Office cause it's on at 9:30 and I had no more tvs to use! So I need to find out if anyone taped The Office, or if it's on another night as well so that I can watch it. Well Spring is finally here. Hopefully it will stay a while this time and no SNOW on the weekend. Rain I don't mind cause it washes away all that crap that's lying at the side of the road. The river went back down rather quickly. When I went home Monday night, there is a little dock right near the splashpark that was still about a foot under water. When I went by last night, it was a foot above. Leroy went out on the balcony this morning and right up on the edge again. So I guess he welcomed Spring by losing balcony privileges again. The true sign of Spring though? I got Girl Guide Cookies! Thank you Annelieke and Marco - Annelieke for taking them to work and Thank you Marco for thinking to buy me some. So anyway with this beautiful weather - it's about 15 degrees outside right now, I will be walking to work today. I watched the Junos on Sunday night - did you ever notice that you forget that you like someone's voice when you don't hear them blasted on the radio all the time. I'm like that with k.d. lang. I don't have her cds cause she's not one of my favourites, but I forgot what a smooth, serene voice she has. I may have to have a listen to her new cd - Hymns of the 49th parallel. Its a compilation of covers of Canadian artists. She performed Hallelujuh from Mark Cohen and Helpless by Neil Young at the Junos and although it may not be everyone's cup of tea, I really liked it. The Hip performed, which is always entertaining and I would like to get a copy of Pieces, the way it was performed by Sum41 that night. It was more acoustic and I really liked it. Well, the world has lost another leader, and someone who also always struck me as being "just a really nice man". Prince Ranier is gone. Much like Mother Teresa, he died in the shadow of the proceedings of another important figure on the World Stage so I am not sure how much coverage his death will receive. Granted he was not as important to the world as was the Holy Father, but his family and friends will greive just the same. well, its off to work I go now... Later Kids.... |
