Musings from the edge

Tonight's Amazing Race Update - Well the precident has been set. Teams now know that you don't even have to try the road blocks. All you have to do is be in the front 4 teams and you will be safe. Has anyone noticed that Amber is not really doing anything to contribute to her team? Whether or not you agree with his tactics, it appears that Rob is the one with all the ideas.
I think the Mother and Son team have probably the most stressful dynamics. I'm sure it must be tough to control frustration and not freak out. Married couples can get divorced, dating ones can decide to not see each other any more. Mothers never forget. I was impressed by Lynn and Alex in the way that they quickly got in sync to do the rowing in the raft and overtook Rob and Amber. I also liked it that, although the only other all girl team was eliminated, it wasn't due to the fact that Rob and Amber took their taxi. Speaking of that, are there no work ethics where these people travel to? for $15 the driver of the bus was bribed to not open the back door, which I would think is part of the job. The security guard at the airport, Rob simply had to tell him not to talk to the other people and he did it. The taxi driver, although he had already been paid, stranded his passengers at the hotel. The police think nothing of escorting people to where they want to go. Hope there were no emergency. Funny how in the last race in Chicago, Freddy and Kendra thought twice after telling an American cop it was an emergency and were questioned just what the emergency was... Meredith and Gretchen - Gretchen commenting that the brothers were passing them right after she told Meredith to slow down cause she felt sick. Well yeah lady, people are going to pass you if you are only doing 8 mph. And of course, we're into the Fear Factor eating events again. You cannot tell me that 4 pounds of meat is a normal meal in Argentina. Maybe the types of meat were common but that is simply shock value road blocks. Not impressed. Not surprised that many couldn't eat it but Kudos to the ones who did. With Rob as their mentor, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more roadblocks declined in place of the time penalty. Not much else on this leg that stood out. The scenery, as usual was breathtaking. I hope the contestants get a chance to enjoy it a little anyway. We were wondering if they can take their own cameras, or if they would even get a chance to use them. Hmmm..... |
