Well, my fish is living in a measuring cup, no thanks to the orange monster. He managed to launch himself from floor level to a china cabinet, five feet high, link his paw around the aquarium and pull it off, sending it crashing to the floor into pieces. At least I was home so picture me trying to scoop up this fish that's flopping around among pieces of aquarium, water and gravel. I finally got him scooped up and all I could find to put him is was a 2 cup glass measuring cup. So this is where he lives now, on top of the fridge, hidden from the sight of on Bad, Bad Leroy Brown. And the emphasis is on the first two words of his name! Leroy on the other hand is unscathed and walking around incredibly proud of himself.
I was up early this morning and was actually productive. I made banana bread and chicken alfredo, both of which I will take some of in my lunch today. Last day of overtime!!!! This will make 15 days in a row that I have worked and then I have my regular 4 days, but then I have 5 days in a row off and in the middle of those 5 days is payday where I will see the benefits of all this overtime. So it's not so bad although I've really had to push myself these last couple of days. I went to see Ladder 49 on it's opening night with Marco. I loved it. The next day everyone told me what bad reviews it got, not that I ever listened to reviews before, but they are so wrong. I went onto the MSN site for it and read the critics bad reviews and then went and read the readers reviews. Needless to say, the people who saw and reviewed it loved it. These were people who are married to firefighters, retired firefighters and the actual firefighters themselves. The only one that wasn't a five star rating didn't like it because of the music. They loved the storyline itself. As did I. It didn't end like you thought it would and it showed a whole different side to the heroic, all they do is run out and fight fires, side of the profession. It showed it as a family, which it is. Anyone who watched any documentaries on the aftermath of 9/11 saw then how the firemen have a bond within the house that has the strength and the devotion of true family. It was wonderful that this came through in the movie. Looking at Johnny T wasn't so tough to do either (lol). I managed to get almost a whole week off in December, 5 days anyway so that will give me time to do all of my Christmas stuff like the baking and the shopping. I can probably arrange for the Chrisco Hamper to come that day too. If you haven't heard me rave about this before, it's a program where you pay every payday for 10 months and then in December, these food hampers are delivered. I'm getting one that's called the Turkey hamper upgrade plus bonus, one that's called the Everest Plus Freezer Pack and the Baking hamper. The deliver in December though so it's good that I will have a week off to arrange the delivery, although having Wed, Thurs and Friday off regularly, I can't see that it would have been a problem. Anyway, time to go to work, or at least get ready to. 7 more hours and all OT will be done. Since my actual birthday is on a Saturday and everyone has to work that day, maybe I'll go Christmas shopping on my Birthday. There's an idea seeing as I already know of a few gifts that I want to get.... Bye for now..... |
